He was best known as the bassist and co-vocalist for The Hidden Hand, a Washington, D.C.-area doom metal trio he founded with Scott "Wino" Weinrich in 2002. The band released three albums on independent labels including Southern Lord Records and MeteorCity.[1] In 2016, he joined The Obsessed during the band's reunion.[2]

Falkinburg also co-owned Phase Recording Studio in College Park, Maryland, where he produced recordings for heavy music bands in the region.[3]

Career

The Hidden Hand

Falkinburg and Weinrich formed The Hidden Hand in 2002. The band released three full-length albums: Divine Propaganda (2003), Mother Teacher Destroyer (2004), and The Resurrection of Whiskey Foote (2007).[1][4] Reviews in publications like Exclaim! and Chronicles of Chaos noted Falkinburg's shared vocal duties and bass playing.[5][6][7]

The Obsessed

In late 2016, Weinrich announced a new lineup of The Obsessed that included Falkinburg on bass and backing vocals.[8] The group performed shows in New York and other cities during this period.[9]
