Bruce Cardozo (November 26, 1952 – April 20, 2015) was an American filmmaker, writer, director, and visual effects artist known for Johnny Mnemonic, Superman IV: The Quest for Peace and Election.
Early life and education
Bruce Cardozo was born on November 26, 1952 in the Bronx, New York.
Bruce attended Pura Belpré Public School 64 from 1957 to 1964 and continued his education at Joseph H. Wade Junior High School from 1964 to 1967. He later enrolled at the Art and Design High School from 1966 to 1970,.[1] Bruce later pursued higher education at the University Tisch School of the Arts from 1970-1974

Career
Bruce's first short film was (1969) Voodoo Kid, and (1974) Spider-Man Versus Kraven the Hunter. In September 1982.[2] Bruce began working on documenting the lost city of Cecil B DeMille with filmmaker Peter Brosnan, they traveled to Guadalupe to find Demile's lost film set, in 2016 they would release The Lost City of Cecil B. DeMille.[3]
Bruce continued to gradually make a name for himself as a talented visual effects artist, working at Cinema Research Corporation and Efilm. In 2004 he got nominated for best cinematography at the Society of Camera Operators[4] and continued to do so till his passing in 2015[5]
Death and Legacy
Bruce died on April 20th, 2015 at his New Jersey home shortly after his 3rd stroke after suffering from a fatal car accident prior to his death. Bruce's work continues to inspire filmmakers and visual effects artists, and his name is often cited among the pioneers of modern cinematic storytelling.
