Brown Rudnick is an international law firm that serves clients around the world from offices in key financial centers in the United States and the United Kingdom. The firm has over 250 lawyers and focuses on industry-driven, client-facing practices where it is recognized as a market leader.

Pro bono

In 2001, Brown Rudnick forged a new vehicle to advance its pro bono efforts. The Brown Rudnick Center for the Public Interest is an innovative model combining the Firm’s pro bono, charitable giving and community volunteer efforts.[1] Through the Center, the Firm champions, coordinates and celebrates its public interest work.[2]

In 2022, Brown Rudnick announced the formation of the Brown Rudnick Civil Rights Summer Fellowship at Lawyers for Civil Rights (LCR) following the successful representation of disenfranchised voters in Worcester in a federal voting rights lawsuit that changed the city’s districting system[3].[4] LCR is a Boston-based legal organization dedicated to promoting equal opportunity and fighting discrimination on behalf of people of color and immigrants.[5] The summer fellowship is designed to help support and encourage future civil rights lawyers.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

For 14 years in a row, Brown Rudnick has earned a perfect score on the Corporate Equality Index – a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation.[6] In 2022, Brown Rudnick was among 141 law firms to meet all of the index’s criteria, receiving a 100 percent ranking and a designation as one of the Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality. For three years in a row, Brown Rudnick has achieved Mansfield Certification, demonstrating a commitment to increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the legal profession. The certification, organized by Diversity Lab, measures whether law firms have affirmatively considered at least 30 percent women, underrepresented racial/ethnic groups, LGBTQ+ lawyers, and lawyers with disabilities for leadership and governance roles, promotions to partner, formal client pitch opportunities, and senior lateral positions.
