Broken Edge is a multiplayer virtual reality swordplay game released on November 17, 2022, for Oculus 2, Oculus Pro, and PC VR. It was developed by Trebuchet Studio Inc. and published by Fast Travel Games.[1][2]

Gameplay

Broken Edge has three different game modes. The Dojo, Solo mode, and multiplayer. The Dojo is the tutorial and practice arena of the game. In this game mode, players learn the main game mechanics. The Solo mode works as the game's arcade ladder, dueling multiple opponents before finally facing off against Tyrant at the end. The Multiplayer mode is the game's main mode, where players duel against other players to climb the leaderboard and become the best. Broken Edge borrows many similarities to Hellish Quart or Fencing, needing to land only one strike on their opponent to win the round[3] [4].To land the blow, the player must awaken their blade. To do so, the player must move their controller(s) in a motion similar to the weapon they have selected. Once they have, they can hit the opponent to win the round. Once they win three rounds, they win the whole Game|game. As the players attack each other, they can use their weapons to block each other, taking energy from their energy bar. The energy bar helps regenerate the sword once it breaks. Once the energy bar runs out, the only way to regenerate the sword is through a critical parry. There are multiple hand motions the players can do that have various effects. The Edge Breaker lets the player damage their opponent's sword without damaging their own. The Ward works as a full-body shield, letting you take one blow before losing the round. The Second Wind lets the player regenerate their sword back instantly, regardless of the circumstances.
