Brittany Middlebrooks
Brittany Middlebrooks is a pageant queen from Chicago, Illinois, most notably Miss Illinois United States 2014.[1]. Her career in pageantry began at the age of 19 [2]
Personal life
Brittany Middlebrooks, originally from the South Side of Chicago, enrolled in DePaul University at the age of 18. [3]. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations. [4]. Brittany's personal interests include traveling, thrift shopping, and running an online fashion blog. [5] Brittany's decision to participate in philanthropy and advocacy is related to the death of her grandfather to Alzheimer's disease. Brittany is currently married to a former military member and does not currently have children.
Pageant career
Brittany Middlebrooks during the interview portion of Miss Illinois United States Brittany started her pageant career while a student at DePaul University at 19 years old.[3] She competed in the Miss Illinois USA pageant system in 2012 and 2013. Brittany Middlebrooks' pageant career led to the winning of the title of Miss Illinois United States in 2014 in Chicago, Illinois. Brittany competed for Miss United States in Washington, D.C. on July, 7th, 2014. Her placement at the national pageant is currently unknown. After relinquishing the title Miss Illinois United States to the 2015 winner, Brittany returned to the Miss Illinois USA system to compete as Miss South Loop USA.
Director
Brittany was named Executive Director of Miss Illinois United States in November 2017, overseeing 3 regional divisions. Brittany resigned from her position in January 2019.
Platform
Participation in the Miss United States Organization requires a platform [6]. Brittany selected Alzheimer's awareness advocacy [4]. Her advocacy efforts included organizing events such as cupcake delivery to the Ronald McDonald House of Chicago for a Pageant Night and multiple interviews with the media in which she discussed Alzheimer's and its effect on society. Most notably, Brittany appeared on Fox 32 Chicago to discuss the importance of Alzheimer's research. [4] Additionally, Brittany raised funds for the Alzheimer's Association. [1]
Later career
Brittany is currently a Real Estate Agent with Berkshire Hathaway Homeservices, servicing the Chicago and Phoenix areas. [7] Brittany also runs an online fashion blog under the pseudonym "Brittany Janae", dedicated to Chicago styles and thrifted fashion.[5] Notably, Brittany began an Instagram page called getawaybaes that primarily delivers short-form content related to traveling.
