Brian Gould (born November 26, 1981) is an American retail distribution and manufacturing professional. He is the CEO of TruLife Distribution and TruLife Marketing, which assists international manufacturers in carrying out importation, distribution, and promotion activities nationally in the United States. Gould is also the Co-Founder of The Dietary Supplement Import Association (DSIA), which helps manufacturers find valuable resources for importing their brands into the United States.

Gould is known for his skills in inventory management & planning, specialty retail marketing leadership, supply chain relationship management, product launch & new market entry. Gould's vision is to help importers gain a foothold in the American market and succeed through proper distribution processes and marketing strategies.

Early life & education

Brian was born on November 26, 1981, in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was raised by his father Mitch Gould, a 3rd generation retail distribution and manufacturing professional. Since 11, Brian has devoted most of his time to learning and assisting in the family business. In addition, he has had a lifelong fascination with how products ended up on the shelves of retail stores.

Brian attended Desert Mountain High School from 1996 to 2000 and then went to Florida Atlantic University. When Brian wasn't in school, he spent most of his summer breaks putting together representative kits and educational materials for their sales team. Even as a child, he showed a significant interest in the company NMSSI (National Marketing Sales & Service Inc.) NMSSI was an outsourced sales agency for lawn and garden manufacturers who could not afford a high-level VP of Sales.

Brian Gould liked to listen in on conference calls. So, at 15, he began attending meetings with Mitch and became more involved in the business process. Eventually, he took a job at the Home Depot stores based on his father's guidance to learn more about the retail business.

Career

Gould has an extensive experience of over fifteen years of working in the health and wellness field. His family has been in the manufacturing and retail distribution business for three generations.

In 1999, at the age of 18, Gould secured a position as a high-powered sales representative with Reed and Associates. His territory was primarily Arizona, which included more than 55 stores and represented 20 brands.

After relocating to Florida in 2002, Gould joined the family business full-time. Mitch Gould established Steven Seagal Enterprises in partnership with actor Steven Seagal. They created Pure Force Energy Bars and Lightning Bolt Energy Drink. Both brands were highly successful and were introduced to retailers all over the country which Brian was a part of.

In 2006, Gould’s started working with Amazon.com and assisted in developing and launching the health & personal care and Sports nutrition categories. During 2006-2008, he sold over 5000 different products on Amazon through 250 different vendors. In addition, he established distribution channels for more than 30 vendors on websites such as Walmart.com, Luckyvitamin.com, and several others, bringing in millions of dollars in revenue.

In 2006, Gould also began his career in the retail industry, by joining a newly established company called Nutritional Products International. The company employed a synergistic group of marketing pros to handle the retail distribution of nutraceuticals, dietary supplements, functional beverages, and skin care products. Gould joined in as the director of sales and was promoted to Vice President of Retail operations in 2012. In 2017, he became the President of the company. During his tenure at NPI, Gould increased revenue, which led to expansion and positive press for the company. After holding the position of President at Nutritional Products International for several years, Gould launched his own company, TruLife Distribution.[1][2]

Gould launched TruLife Distribution in 2019. The company allows brands to outsource their marketing and distribution activities at a fraction of the cost of doing it in-house. This frees up production time and resources, allowing companies to concentrate on developing innovative health and wellness products that help consumers.[3] The executives at TruLife Distribution have recognized authorities in marketing and distribution of nutritional, health, and wellness products. Within 3 years, the company has gained recognition and prolific clientele owing to Gould’s expertise and over 16 years of experience in both the retail and the nutrition industry.[4]

Over the years, Gould has worked with international manufacturers to import their goods into the United States and help them with distribution and national advertising. Gould has built a team of over 35 executives to help brands with things like FDA compliance and label redesign, creating appropriate product pricing, warehousing, 3PL order fulfillment, and logistics across three warehouses in the United States (in Utah, Tennessee, and Florida).[5]

Through his companies, TruLife Distribution and TruLife Marketing, Gould helps brands in marketing, branding, website design, press release development, social media management, and e-commerce support via Amazon.com & Walmart.com with 10+ additional e-commerce platforms.[6] Gould has built relationships with some of the largest brick-and-mortar retailers and industry influencers across the United States Marketplace.[7]

Gould has attended ECRM buyer conferences for the past 12 years, 10 of which were in person before the pandemic from 2009-2019. In addition, he has fostered a cooperative partnership with Efficient Collaborative Retail Marketing (ECRM) throughout his career. Through this relationship, Gould assists brands in showcasing their most cutting-edge innovations to major retail buyers, giving them an edge when introducing new products to the country's largest retailers.[8]

Some of the notable retailers Gould has met with within the United States include Wholefoods, Target, Vitamin Shoppe, Fresh Market, Lewis Drug, GNC, Natural Grocers, Kinney Drug, CVS, Walgreens, Meijer, Wegmans, Hometown Pharmacies, and HEB. Since the middle of the 1990s, Brian has been a regular at the Expo West trade shows and is enthusiastic about the natural products industry as a whole.[9]

Personal life

Gould’s family relocated from Arizona to Boca Raton, Florida in 2002. Presently, Gould resides in the city of Parkland, Florida.[10] He married his wife, Rodica Lesan on June 8, 2019. His grandfathers are Gerald Gould, a second-generation retail distribution and manufacturing professional, and James Henley, who is deceased. His grandmothers are Marilyn Gould, and Judith Henley and his brother is Scott Gould.[11]

In his free time, Gould enjoys playing drums and tennis.[12] He also loves traveling, exploring new places, watching movies, fine dining, and engaging in gym and fitness activities.[13]

Philanthropy

Gould is also associated with various philanthropic and charitable activities.[14] He is a frequent attendee and participator in various charity events held by different nonprofits and organizations dedicated to working towards social causes and empowerment. Gould has recently launched the Brian Gould Foundation to aid the poor, the less fortunate, and recovering addicts.[15]
