Brett Kelly is an Australian businessman, philanthropist and entrepreneur.
He is noted as the Founder and CEO of Kelly+Partners (ASX:KPG); for his career as a professional speaker; and as the best-selling author of four books.[1]
Background & Education
Kelly holds a bachelor's degree in business from University of Technology, Sydney and a Master's degree in taxation from the University of New South Wales. He is also qualified as a Chartered Accountant and Registered Tax Agent [2]. He has more than twenty-five years of commercial and professional accountancy experience, specializing in assisting individuals and families who own private businesses.
Professional Career
Kelly founded Kelly+Partners Chartered Accountants in 2006 and over 17 years has grown the business to become a private business specialist accounting network. Kelly+Partners is the 21st largest firm in Australia and has offices in Hong Kong, United States, India and the United Kingdom.
In June 2017, Kelly+Partners Group Holdings Limited listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX).[3]
Published Books
In 1998, Kelly published the national bestseller Collective Wisdom, a book comprised of his interviews with 34 leading Australian achievers including Bob Hawke, Malcolm Turnbull, Poppy King, Gerry Harvey, Kathryn Greiner, Ray Martin, Imelda Roche, Jeff Kennett, Pat O’Shane and Peter Brock amongst others.
The book has been followed up with follow ups including Universal Wisdom (2005), Business Owners’ Wisdom (2012) and Investment Wisdom (2019).[4]
Podcast
Kelly's podcast The Be Better Off Show is all about inspiring people to have healthier, wealthier and wiser lives. Breaking the mould of the traditionally held view that "accounting is boring!", guests on the podcast have included interviewed Dr Shaquille O’Neal on Business and Dr Jordan B Peterson on Driving Business Performance.[5]
Personal Life
Brett Kelly is married to Rebecca and they have three children – Thomas, Nicholas, and Audrey. The family is currently based in Sydney and Los Angeles.[6]
