Brett Gregory is an English film director, screenwriter and producer best known for his debut feature film "Nobody Loves You and You Don't Deserve to Exist" (2022), and the "Beyond Trilogy" of music documentaries. He has received numerous accolades for his work, including his music video "Mother" for Louis Barrabas and the Bedlam Six, which was featured in a 2010 BBC article. [1]

In 2012 Gregory released the documentary, "Manchester: Beyond Oasis", which was celebrated by the regional online publication Mancunian Matters as a film that "captures the spirit of the city’s music scene" [2] This was followed by "Liverpool: Beyond the Beatles" in 2015, which was reported on by music website Liverpool Noise and screened at city-based bar, Leaf. [3] In an interview with the Altringham and Sale Messenger, Gregory discussed the production of his documentary "Liverpool: Beyond the Beatles", stating that the film cost £25,000, largely due to the dedication of the production team who worked for free. [4]

Brett Gregory's debut feature film "Nobody Loves You and You Don't Deserve to Exist" was released on VOD to stream in May 2022 and received widespread critical acclaim. It was described as a "complex and original kind of social surrealism" in the daily national newspaper The Morning Star. [5] The film received coverage in other outlets, including the Manchester Evening News [6], Leigh Journal [7], and Wigan Post. [8]

Gregory received recognition at several international film festivals, including the Ponza Film Awards, where he won Best Feature Film, and was a finalist in the Sweden Film Awards. The film was shown at the Workers Unite Film Festival in New York and the Capri Hollywood International Film Festival in Italy. [9] [10] [11] [12] The film's performances and soundtrack, composed by Ivor Novello-nominated composer Andrew McCrorie-Shand [13] received praise from outlets such as "Live For Film" [14] and "The Twin Geeks". [15]

In addition to these works, Gregory has been featured on multiple websites, including Entertainment.ie, FutureArtists.net, NorthManchester.fm, and Getintothis.co.uk. [16] [17] [18] [19]
