Brett Grace (born 22 March 1988) is an American socialite, writer, and creative consultant. He is the son of Robert S. McElvaine, famous author and the Elizabeth Chisholm Professor of Arts and Letters and Chair of the Department of History at Millsaps College, and his wife, Anne. Grace has attracted international attention for his socialite lifestyle. He is known for his appearance in music videos for artists such as Beck, Gwen Stefani, No Doubt, Shakespears Sister, Holly Miranda, and Billy Corgan.[1]

He is known for his gifted essay writing, and he is also consults for a number of brands on how to better position themselves. He is frequently been published in the media for his close relationship with his childhood friend British model Georgia May Jagger.

Grace is working on a book, In Lieu of Real Life that features short-stories and essays.

Biography

Grace was born on 22 March 1988 in Jackson, Mississippi to writer and historian Robert S. McElvaine and his wife, Anne.Since birth,he was surrounded by great literary influences including Eudora Welty. His father is a renowned writer who is considered a pioneer in his writing about the Great Depression, as well as other history and political subjects. His mother, Anne, works with children with special needs.[2][3]

When he was fifteen, Grace moved to Los Angles, to be treated for anxiety and panic disorder at UCLA's Neuropsychiatric Institute. In 2007, Grace relocated with his parents to Wellington, New Zealand when his father became a Fulbright scholar researching at the National Library of New Zealand. Afterwards, Grace returned to Los Angeles and has lived there ever since.

From his early age, Grace has been writing short stories and essays. He has stated he plans to release a collection of writing entitled In Lieu of Real Life.[4]

Grace has appeared in two Beck music videos: "Gamma Ray," directed by Autumn de Wilde in 2008, and most notably, he played Young Beck in Beck's music video for "Heart is a Drum," directed by Sophie Muller and Giovanni Ribisi in 2014. He also made a cameo appearance hanging out with Gwen Stefani in her 2014 music video "Spark The Fire," directed by Sophie Muller.[5]

Grace was photographed by Autumn de Wilde in Hollywood Forever Cemetery for British Vogue in 2009. He also appears in the 2017 short film "Pillbox," directed by Billy Corgan and Linda Strawberry.[6]

Personal life

Grace resides in Los Angeles, where he works as an artist in numerous creativefields. He's known to have an especially engaging personality, having achieved some celebrity because of his socialite lifestyle.[7]

He has been widely covered by the media and is a high-profile socialite who is often seen at fashion week, and film, music, and art festivals around the world. He has especially been covered by the media for his close relationship with his childhood friend British model Georgia May Jagger.[8]

His star sign is Aries. He has multiple tattoos, most of which are matching tattoos with close friends. In 2007, he was briefly engaged to the musician Katy Rose.[9][10].
