Brandon Iron (July 14, 1968 – 2019) was a Canadian adult entertainer and director.[1][2] Known for his hardcore style in the porn industry, he was inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame in 2018.[3]
Career
A native of Alberta, Canada, he completed a degree in English, before deciding to join the porn industry, performing sporadically in 1991, and working full-time in 1997. An avid porn fan himself, he became recognized for the length and girth of his penis.[3][4]
He began his work as a director in 2000, creating several titles for Extreme Associates, Devil's Film, Premiere Pictures and Red Light District, and in 2003 he started working for Platinum X Pictures.[2][3] Brandon also worked for West Coast Productions, and became one-half of the production company Ironwood Productions, alongside Mark Wood.[1]
In 2007, he began his own eponymous label Brandon Iron Productions, which found a home under JM Productions for distribution. Focusing on making hardcore movies, Brandon declared he was happy to pursue his vision, have sex with hundreds of young women and get his movies into the hands of as many consumers as possible.[5]
He was noted as kind and considerate of his female costars and having a positive attitude.[6] In 2012 he told Forbes that "the hardest thing about being a male porn star is convincing your female co-workers that you are an interesting, well-rounded, fun guy who they might consider dating in a parallel universe after a few drinks."[7]
After a difficult change in the industry, due to the tube site revolution and online porn piracy, and a battle with U.S. immigration authorities, he moved to Europe and continued his career into his 40s, working as a content creator through his website BrandonIron.com and ManyVids[3], and in 2016 he expressed having a sitisfying experience with his studio ranked 9th out of 904 studios.[8]
Death
Living in Dublin, Ireland, with his girlfriend and their daughter, Brandon had fallen out of contact with friends around April 2019. His body was found later that year, and the death was confirmed by the news. He had previously expressed his disillusionment with the porn industry on social media.
