Brad Piercewright (born 21 September 1980) is a British businessman and former professional footballer. He is the founder of Anglotech Group and was the founder and owner of Technocopy Solutions Ltd, a copier and document technology company. Before entering business, Piercewright played as a defender for several English clubs, including Queens Park Rangers, Grimsby Town, Darlington, and Kettering Town.

Early life and football career

Piercewright was born in Northampton, England, and began his football career with his hometown club, Northampton Town, where he developed as a youth player and defender.[1] His performances at Northampton Town attracted the attention of Queens Park Rangers (QPR), who signed him to their youth and reserve setups. He progressed at QPR, gaining experience within the professional game before joining Grimsby Town. While at Grimsby, Piercewright was loaned out to Scarborough to gain first-team experience, featuring as a central defender during his spell there. He later signed for Darlington, continuing his career in the Football League. After leaving Darlington, Piercewright signed for Kettering Town, where he played a key defensive role in helping the club win the Southern League Premier Division title.[2] Piercewright later joined Hinckley United, where he became a mainstay in defence and made over 100 appearances for the club across several seasons. Years later, he returned to Kettering Town and captained the side for one season before concluding his playing career. A versatile and committed central defender, Piercewright was recognised for his leadership qualities, strong tackling, and consistency before retiring from football to pursue a career in business.

Business career

Following his retirement from football, Piercewright entered the corp sector in his mid-20s. He is the founder of the UK-based Anglotech Group (formerly Anglotech Solutions), a company involved in office technology solutions, document management, and digital transformation services.[3]

In 2008, he established Technocopy Solutions in Wellingborough, starting the business from his home office. Over the following decade, he grew it into one of the leading copier and printer firms in the UK. Technocopy was named SME Northamptonshire Business Awards — Business of the Year in 2017.[4] In 2017, Technocopy achieved record financial performance in both turnover and profitability.[5] That same year, the company was shortlisted for the National SME Business Awards in the Service Excellence category and earned runner-up honours.[5] Piercewright reflected, “Back in 2008 I took a big gamble … the last 10 years have been the most rewar ding time in my professional career.”[5] In 2018, Technocopy Solutions became a headline sponsor of the SME Northamptonshire Business Awards, joining as a lead partner in support of the county’s business community.[6] Piercewright noted that after Technocopy won Service Excellence and Business of the Year awards in 2017, he was keen to contribute to the awards as a sponsor to support and encourage other local businesses: “For us, winning two awards last year was a great thrill … that’s why we wanted to be involved this year to help and encourage others to enter.”[6]

In October 2018, Business by Technology (BBT) purchased Technocopy Solutions Ltd in a deal supported by £7.4 million in funding from Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks.[7] The acquisition allowed BBT to significantly expand its customer base and revenue, solidifying its market position as a major independent supplier of copier and printer technologies.[8] Following the sale, Piercewright focused on the development of the wider Anglotech Group, expanding its operations and service portfolio across the UK. Under his leadership, Anglotech achieved approved supplier status with major manufacturers such as Olivetti, Ricoh, Canon, HP, and Lexmark, and broadened its services to include document management software integration from offices in Wellingborough, London, and Darlington.[4][7] His leadership team also includes figures such as Stephen Etheridge, who sits on the board of Anglotech.[7]

Philanthropy and Community involvement

Piercewright and his company, Technocopy Solutions, have supported local charitable causes over the years. In May 2018, Technocopy acted as the headline sponsor of a 5 km fundraising event at Overstone Park in support of Cynthia Spencer Hospice.[9] A team from Technocopy participated in the run, along with around 600 other participants.[9] Piercewright stated that his company “has supported Cynthia Spencer Hospice for many years” and that sponsoring the run was a natural extension of that support.[9] He also committed to running the Northampton Half Marathon in memory of his mother and grandmother, both of whom died at the hospice, to raise additional funds.[9]

Piercewright’s business achievements have been acknowledged within the regional and national business community.
