Brad Owen is an American professional poker player, YouTube content creator, and entrepreneur. He is best known for his popular poker vlogs on YouTube, where he has amassed over 750,000 subscribers, and as a co-owner of The Lodge Card Club in Austin, Texas. Owen is also a World Poker Tour (WPT) ambassador and has recorded live tournament earnings exceeding $1.27 million.[1]

Early life and background

Brad Owen was born in 1988 in Santa Rosa, California. He was first introduced to poker as a teenager when his father obtained employment at a casino and received "Hoyle Casino" software to learn casino games through simulations. Owen became interested in poker through this software, particularly enjoying limit hold'em tournaments.[2]

During high school, Owen began playing poker against his older brother and college friends, describing it as "the first thing I was able to beat him at."[2]

Poker career

Early professional career

In 2012, Owen moved from San Francisco to Las Vegas to pursue a professional poker career with a $10,000 bankroll. Initially successful, earning $3,000-$4,000 per month playing cash games, he experienced a significant setback when he moved to Orange County, California and lost his entire bankroll. He subsequently returned home to live with his parents and worked as an accountant before returning to poker.[2]

Tournament results

Owen's breakthrough tournament performance came in December 2023 when he finished 7th in the $50,000 WPT Alpha8 event during the WPT World Championship at the Wynn Las Vegas, earning $152,266—his largest single tournament cash to date.[3]

As of 2025, Owen has recorded live tournament earnings of $1,272,595 with 91 total cashes, including 42 World Series of Poker (WSOP) cashes totaling $281,005.[1] In February 2025, he won his first major live title, capturing a $5,000 High Roller event at The Lodge Card Club for $59,634.[4]

Cash game career

Owen is primarily known as a cash game specialist, having progressed from low-stakes games to high-stakes sessions. He has played in notable cash game venues including Bobby's Room at the Bellagio and regularly participates in high-stakes games at The Lodge Card Club.[5]

YouTube career

Owen launched his poker vlog on YouTube on December 2, 2016, with his first video documenting a session at Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa. His channel focuses on documenting live cash game sessions with real-time commentary and hand analysis.[2]

The channel has grown to over 750,000 subscribers with more than 175 million total views.[3] Owen is recognized as one of the pioneering figures in poker vlogging alongside Andrew Neeme.[6]

Owen, along with fellow poker vlogger Andrew Neeme, pioneered the concept of "Meet-Up Games" (MUGs), where content creators and their audiences play together in organized poker sessions.[6]

Business ventures

The Lodge Card Club

In early 2022, Owen partnered with poker professionals Doug Polk and Andrew Neeme to acquire a controlling stake in The Lodge Poker Club & Card Room in Austin, Texas, which became the largest poker establishment in Austin with over 68 tables.[4] The venue hosts regular cash games, tournaments, and the popular "Live From The Lodge" live stream.[7]

In 2024, the ownership group expanded by acquiring the Rounders Card Club in San Antonio, Texas, rebranding it as The Lodge Card Club San Antonio.[8]

Sponsorships and ambassadorships

Owen serves as an official ambassador for the World Poker Tour.[3] He has also been associated with WPT Global and has partnerships with various poker-related brands and platforms.

Recognition and awards

The "Live From The Lodge" stream, which Owen co-produces, won the Global Poker Awards Fan's Choice Best Live Stream honors.[4] Owen is recognized as one of the pioneering figures in live poker vlogging and has been acknowledged for his contributions to poker content creation.[6]
