Brad Lund is an American entrepreneur, private pilot, and the founder of Purely Storage, a self-storage company operating over 40 facilities across five U.S. states. He is known for acquiring underperforming properties and increasing their value through improved operations and management systems.
Early life and education
Lund earned a degree in business from Brigham Young University (BYU), where he focused on business and entrepreneurship.
From 1988 to 1990, Lund served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Brazil. Career
Lund began his professional career in the 1990s as an investment broker at CBRE in Roseville, California. He was a top producer and received the Rookie of the Year award. In his 20s and 30s, he acquired over 350 apartment units in the Sacramento area. To manage this portfolio, he founded Highland Asset Management, a vertically integrated firm overseeing more than 1,000 residential units.
Following the 2008 financial crisis, Lund sold most of his real estate holdings. In 2009, he briefly worked in self-storage brokerage at Marcus & Millichap before founding Purely Storage. The company has since expanded throughout California, Arizona, Washington, Nevada, and Texas. Lund has also contributed to industry publications, including Inside Self-Storage.[1]
Since its founding, Purely Storage has been recognized among the top self-storage operators in the United States. The company has consistently appeared on Inside Self-Storage's annual Top Operators lists for both facility owners and management companies, reflecting its substantial footprint and influence in the industry.[2][3]
Lund has contributed to industry publications such as Inside Self-Storage, including articles on operational best practices and crime prevention.[4]
Aviation
Lund is a licensed pilot who regularly flies a Cessna Citation Mustang and a CubCrafters Carbon Cub.

Personal life
Lund is an Eagle Scout and a lifetime member of the Experimental Aircraft Association. He is a donor to the Segerstrom Center for the Arts. He lives in Newport Beach, California, with his wife Becky. They are active in their church and teach gospel classes to young adults.
