Boris Šušmak (born October 1975) is a Slovenian information technology professional known for his work in information systems development in port logistics. He is Head of IT Services Development at the Port of Koper.[1][2] [3][4][5]
Education
Šušmak studied at the University of Ljubljana, where he obtained degrees in organisation and management and information technology management. [6] [7]
Career
Šušmak joined the Port of Koper in 2002. He has since worked in a number of senior roles related to information systems, business process development, and digital transformation. He later served as Chief Information Officer and currently leads IT services development at the port.[8][9][10][11]
In addition to his professional work, he has been involved in higher education as an assistant lecturer in business informatics at the University of Primorska.[12][13]
Recognition
In 2013, Šušmak received national recognition as CIO of the Year / IT Manager of the Year for his work in information systems development at the Port of Koper.
Other activities
Šušmak has been active in environmental education initiatives related to the Blue Flag and Green Key programmes. He has served on the board of DOVES-FEE Slovenia and was a board member of the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE).[23][24][25]
He has appeared in Slovenian national media in connection with the implementation of the Blue Flag programme.[26]
