In-universe information

Bongo Cat is an internet meme that originated on May 7th, 2018 when an animated cat gif made by Twitter user "@StrayRogue"[4] tweeted out a GIF of an animated cartoon white cat smacking a table with its two paws.[5] This gif was then replied to by Twitter user "@DitzyFlama",[6] later that day, in which he'd edited the GIF to include bongos and added the song "Athletic" from the Super Mario World soundtrack to give the illusion of the cat playing the song.[7] The large amount of attention this post got resulted in a viral sensation.[8][9]

Bongo Cat appeared in YouTube Rewind 2018: Everyone Controls Rewind[10] in a scene where one YouTuber proposes a reference to the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, but comedian Michael Dapaah states that Bongo Cat will be a replacement groom. Bongo Cat is then seen in a groom costume, playing bongos in a wedding scene next to Meghan Markle, who is wearing a wedding dress.[11]
