Blaine Greteman (born July 28, 1975) is an American journalist and literary critic.

Career

Greteman graduated with a B.A. in English from Oklahoma State University, where he was the school's first Rhodes Scholar.[1] He then earned an M.Phil from Oxford University in 2000, and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2008. During the Iraq War, he was a correspondent with TIME Magazine [2]. He was named a Stanford University Humanities Center Fellow in 2015-16.[3]

His essays have appeared in Time[4], The New Republic[5], The Week[6], and Slate[7]. He is the author of a 2003 book, The Poetics and Politics of Youth in Milton's England[8], and a 2021 book, Shakespeare's Social Network: Influence, Agency, and Revolutionary Change.[9]

He lives in Iowa City, Iowa, where he is a professor of English at the University of Iowa.
