Björn Natthiko Lindeblad, (16 August 1961 – 17 January 2022),[1] is a Swedish MBA, public Speaker, meditation teacher and buddhist monk.

Life and Career

Lindeblad has an MBA from the Stockholm School of Economics and started working in the mid-1980s for AGA AB in Spain. He soon realised he did not enjoy that life, resigned and tried different careers including working in a kindergarten, studying literature, working as a substitute teacher, volunteering for a mental health hotline and working with business administration for the United Nations in India.

Both before and during his year in India he was interested in meditation and Buddhism, and in January 1992 he travelled to Wat Pah Nanachat, a Thai Theravada Buddhist monastery in northeast Thailand where he became a monk and was given the name Natthiko, meaning “one who grows in wisdom.”. The monastery worked as a spiritual inn with many guests from Thailand and abroad, and Lindeblad appreciated the environment and community. He later moved to monasteries in England and Switzerland.[2] In October 2008 he decided to leave his life as a monk and return to Sweden where he led spiritual retreats and became a public speaker.

In 2012 Lindeblad won a voting by the Swedish radio listeners to host an episode of the long-running Swedish national radio show Sommar i P1. [3] Since then he has become successful in leading guided meditations, retreats and leadership programs for the private industry.

In September 2018 Lindeblad was diagnosed with ALS, which in different ways has affected his public speaking business.

In June 26th 2020, Lindeblad was the host on Sommar i P1 for the second time.[4]

On October 3rd the same year he spoke with Jenny Strömstedt on Swedens largest commercial TV channel TV4's TV4 Nyhetsmorgon about his new book I may be wrong.[5]

On November 13th 2020 he was a guest on Swedens and Norways biggest talkshow Skavlan.[6]

On August 26th 2021 he was again the main guest on Swedish national television Anne Lundberg|Anne Lundbergs program "Anne meets Björn".[7]
