Birla Public School is a private, English-medium, CBSE-affiliated school in Doha, Qatar. It was founded in 2004.
Birla Public School has separate campuses for Grade 1-2, Grade 3-4; and Grade KG1, KG2, 5-12. The first 2 campuses are located in Abu Hamour, and the third one is in Mesaimeer.
History
The school was founded in 2004 by Mr. Basant Kumar Birla and Mrs. Sarala Birla[1] who are from the Indian industrial family, Birla, who have founded many other schools in various regions.[2]
Administration
The school has a governing body composed of 8 people, including a patron from the Al Thani family. The Principal is Mr. Anand R Nair[3]. There are Vice Principals of scholastic and non-scholastic activities. There are various Head of Departments and many departments such as: Art, Mathematics, Social Science, Science, etc. High school, middle school and primary school have various Headmaster/Headmistresses who take care of the affairs of that section. There are coordinators for each grade who handle the affairs of that grade.[4] Each classroom has a class teacher who handles the affairs of that class, and there are around 30 students per class. The students have elected members called Student Council Members who represent the class in the Student Council.[5]
Facilities
The school has an indoor swimming pool, outdoor football ground, underground multi-sports facility, a library, a running track, auditorium, labs and more. The school has washrooms on each floor in different areas of the floor. The school has smart boards with either Windows 10 or 11 installed. Each student has their own desk and chair.
