Bhav Dhulia is an Indian Filmmaker, Director, Creator known for his work in Films and Series in the Hindi Film industry. He made his directorial debut with Season 1 of the Hit Web Series Rangbaaz on Zee5 starring Saqib Saleem, Ahana Kumra and Ranvir Shorey.[1] He followed it up with Netflix’s Khakee: The Bihar Chapter starring Avinash Tiwari, Karan Tacker, Ashutosh Rana.[2][3] Khakee is one of Netflix’s most successful shows in India.[4][5] He is currently working on his Third Web Series with Friday Filmworks.
Early Life
Bhav Dhulia was born in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. His father served in the Indian Navy so they mostly live between Naval Bases in Mumbai, Kochi, Vishakhapatnam, Wellington(Ooty). He studied in the Naval Public School Mumbai and Kochi. Bhav played Basketball at the State level in Kerala. Post his secondary education, Bhav studied Bachelors of Mass Media (Advertising) in KC College, Mumbai. He got involved to creating short films and documentary film in college itself. His graduation film was focused on the Nandigram agitation in Bengal called Aamar Nandigram. Bhav Dhulia is the nephew of the Indian Filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia.[6]
Career
Bhav Dhulia in the initial part of his career worked as the chief assistant director with Tigmanshu Dhulia in his films Shagird (2011) and Paan Singh Tomar (2012). He later worked as the associate director for Nishikant Kamat in Force, Rocky Handsome, Lai Bhaari, Drishyam, Madaari. He then went on to direct the first season of the series Rangbaaz on Zee5 in 2018, starring Saqib Saleem, Ahana Kumra and Ranvir Shorey.[7] His next directorial was Netflix’s Khakee: The Bihar Chapter starring Avinash Tiwari, Karan Tacker, Ashutosh Rana produced by Friday Filmworks.
