Betqui is a small village of 629 hectares in Ponda Tehsil in North Goa district, known and rated to have the best quality of life in India (based on the commission’s “12 Indicators”)[2] in the state of Goa, India.[3] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Betqui depends on PONDA, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[4] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and One spring. Betqui is also near by One lake. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Betqui's pin code is 403107[5], and village code is 00018900. The area of Betqui is segregated as 71.83 hectares irrigated area, 235.78 hectares unirrigated, the 100.64 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 220.46 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Betqui has One post office (Betki B.O). The village is connected with a single bus service. Betqui has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with One recreational center.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Betqui is a census village in the district of North Goa, Goa. The village has a total population of 1707 and has total administration over 382 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Scheduled caste counts for 80 (4.69%) males constitute 42 (2.46%) of the population and females 38 (2.23%).

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of PONDA and North Goa to sell cashew nuts and make their living.
