Zunguza was born in the Secunda township of eMbalenhle, Govan Mbeki Local Municipality, west of Mpumalanga on 4 June 1991. He attended Allan Makunga Primary School and Kiriyatswane Secondary School where he was elected President of the Learners Representative Council (LRC) in 2015, which marked the start of his political career.[1][2]

Soon afterwards he was encouraged to form a branch of the Congress of South African Students at his high school, rising up to becoming Cosas Mpumalanga provincial chairperson, and secretary for two consecutive provincial terms between 2008 and 2017. In 2016 he was elected the Treasurer-General of Cosas at a national conference held in Durban[3][4].

Zunguza matriculated at Kiriyatswane Secondary School and in 2015 he was accepted at PTA College Secunda where he completed a Computer Certificate and a Human Resource N6 Diploma. In 2017 he enrolled with GS College in Evander where he obtained an N4 in Human Resource. In 2019 he got a Diploma in Public Administration from Unisa.
