Bethshan Serosh (born August 24, 1992) is a Pakistani- American classical vocalist, composer, and music educator known for his performances in Hindustani classical music and his work blending classical techniques with gospel music. He has trained under prominent musicians, including Ustad Pervaiz Paras and Ustad Shafqat Ali Khan of the Sham Chaurasi Gharana, and has performed at notable events such as the All Pakistan Music Conference and the Yaad-e-Salamat Festival.

Early Life and Education

Bethshan Serosh was born and raised in Lahore, Pakistan, into a family with a strong musical and spiritual background. His grandfather, Pastor Dr. Hizkiel Serosh, was a composer and evangelist recognized for his contributions to Urdu and Punjabi gospel music. His mother, Sadaqat Serosh, is a gospel singer, and his father, Dr. Noaman Serosh, was a tabla player before becoming an evangelist and Bible teacher.

Serosh began his early education at The Lahore Lyceum and completed his matriculation at Unique High School in Lahore. He studied Pre-Engineering at Forman Christian College before moving to the United States in 2015, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management from Liberty University. He currently resides in Virginia and works as a Human Resources Administrator at a nonprofit organization.

Musical Career

Serosh began formal musical training at age 9 under his grandfather, Pastor Dr. Hizkiel Serosh, and later studied under Ustad Pervaiz Paras and Ustad Shafqat Ali Khan of the Sham Chaurasi Gharana, with the latter acknowledging him as a student. He has performed at several significant classical and devotional music events, including:

• All Pakistan Music Conference (APMC): Performed Raag Madhuvanti in 2022.
• Yaad-e-Salamat Festival: Performed Raag Yaman and Raag Darbari in July 2022, organized by the Sham Chaurasi Music Circle and Lahore Arts Council.
• Tribute Event in Sialkot: Presented Raag Darbari in honor of Ustad Achay Pehlwan, with participation noted in an official event video (name misspelled) and a secondary video with correct spelling.

In addition to classical performances, Serosh collaborates with his mother, Sadaqat Serosh, on gospel albums, including Songs of Serosh Vol. 1, featuring poetry and composition by Pastor Dr. Hizkiel Serosh.

Since 2013, Serosh has been teaching Indian classical music, initiating students through traditional ganda-bandh ceremonies. His notable disciples include Nabeel Jameel, Joshua Robinson, Sobal Vicky Nazir, Daim Gill, and Barnabas Patras, with additional students such as Anoushka Majumdar, Anuj Raiz, and Faisal under his guidance. He promotes a teaching philosophy that integrates classical music traditions with Christian worship, aiming to broaden the reach of classical vocal techniques.

Bethshan Serosh is married to Keziah Serosh, who supports his musical and ministerial endeavors. They have one daughter, Eliora Grace Serosh.
