Beny Luis Ferrer Rodríguez (born 1992) is a Cuban singer and songwriter based in England. He mainly performs Latin music and Jazz with Cuban and English bands such as El Cuartel[1], Bristol Salsa Orchestra[2], and The London Latin Jam.[3]

Background

Beny Luis was born in Holguín in 1992 shortly after the downfall of the Soviet Union to a mother who is a chemist and a father who is an engineer. He started singing when he was 7 years old and moved to Havana at 13 to pursue a career in music.[4][5][6]

Beny Luis' first big project of his career was to lend his singing voice to the main actor of Irremediablemente Juntos, a film by Jorge Luis Sánchez. [7]

In Cuba he was also involved in big events such as the gala for the best Cuban athletes in 2018 [8] and collaborated with artists such as the Orquesta Riverside|Orquesta Riverside and Rembert Egües for a CD produced by EGREM[9] and as a member of Rembert Egües' musical Soy de Cuba.[10]

Throughout his career Beny Luis has been part of multiple international projects such as the Fiesta del Loto in Baca, Yucatán[11], the Segunda Feria Mundial Ecoturistica y de Producción in Jarabacoa, and the XXIII Encuentro Internacional de la Tropa Cosmica in Mexico City.[12]

After his move to England in 2021, Beny Luis started being part of the Bristol Salsa Orchestra and performs at the Bristol Salsa Congress [13]. He also joined The London Latin Jam. Additionally, he reunited with his Cuban band El Cuartel for a concert in Alicante[14] [15] and travelled to Cuba in 2022 to be part of a concert in honour of Astor Piazzolla which was well received by the media.[16] [17] [18] [19]
