Benjamin Samuel, known professionally as BJ Sam, is a Nigerian singer, and songwriter.[1][2] He is the first singer-songwriter to feature musical acts from all the continents of the world in one song.[3][4]

Music career

Samuel started music in a classical mass choir at the age of 15, and later joined an accapella group called The Simplest Guyz in Nigeria before relocating.[2] In 2017, the American film director Lloyd Kaufman selected his song "Mon Amour" for the soundtrack of the Hollywood movie Heart of Fartness.[5] In December 2022, he released a universal Christmas song featuring musicians from all the continents of the world, which include Hollywood Actor Paul Raci, Bollywood playback singer Jaspinder Narula, Indo-American jazz composer and pianist Charu Suri, and Ghanaian singer Diana Hopeson.[6] In 2023, in response to the Russia-Ukraine war, he assembled 23 artists from all continents of the world to release a music video titled 'Show some love', asking everyone to drop their weapons and embrace peace.[7]
