Faafetai Benjamin Mailata (born 30 January 1985) is a New Zealand-Samoan cricketer who is the former captain for the Samoa national cricket team|Samoa cricket team and former ICC East Asia-Pacific player. He is a right-handed batsman, right-arm off spin bowler and occasional wicket-keeper. Mailata has been part of the national team since 2007. In 2019 Mailata picked up 4 caps with International status.
In 2013 at the Pepsi ICC East Asia-Pacific Men's Championship in Auckland New Zealand. Mailata was named Player of the Tournament.[1]
Domestic Career
Mailata made his debut for ICC East Asia-Pacific[2] in the 2011–12 season. He is one of only three Samoans to play for the East Asia-Pacific cricket team at the Australian Country Cricket Championships.[3]
International Career
In June 2019, Mailata was selected to represent Samoa in the Cricket at the 2019 Pacific Games – Men's tournament. Where he picked up 4 Twenty-20 International caps with International status.[4]
