Ben Prevo is an Irish-American Blues guitarist and vocalist best known for his solo work and for playing with Jorma Kaukonen and Rashied Ali in the band There Goes the Neighborhood .[2]
Biography
Career
Prevo began playing with local bands in and around Woodstock, NY, and quickly established himself as a feature of the scene, playing with people like Levon Helm and Rick Danko. [3]
Prevo moved to New York City and played with a number of groups, including the band There Goes the Neighborhood with Jaco Pastorius, Jorma Kaukonen, Rashied Ali, Doug McClean, and Whitie Melvin.
In the early 1990s, Prevo was instrumental in the development of the Tone King line of amplifiers, providing design advice to the founder of Tone King, Mark Bartel. [4]
In 1990, Prevo moved to Ireland to play in the Mary Stokes Band, and while there released his first studio album, New Blue and True with the Ben Prevo Trio.[5]
Prevo now lives full time in Dublin, Ireland and is active in the local blues scene. He appeared on Irish television several times, including a performance on the program Live at 3 on RTE, and on TG4 performing one of his original songs Can I do Anything.[6] [7]
In 1999 Prevo released his first studio album 'It's About Time!' with the Ben Prevo Band. The record recieved He performed a number of shows with Tam White and Thin Lizzy saxophonist John Earle.[8]
