Ben Etiaba is a chartered accountant, a management consultant and a Nigerian politician who contested for governor in the 2021 Anambra Gubernatorial election..[1][2][3]
Early life
Bennet Chukwuogo Etiaba also known as Ben Etiaba is a native of Nnewi in Anambra state.[4] He is the first of six children of Virginia Ngozi Etiaba, Nigeria's first female Governor, and the late Bennet Etiaba (Esq).[5][6] He was born on September 20, 1963.[7]
Career
Ben Etiaba is a chartered accountant and management consultant. He was the former chairman of, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) in United Kingdom District Societies.[8]
He served as the Executive Chairman of Enugu Sports Club in 2017,[9][10][11] and currently serves on the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) Foundation Board of Trustees.[12]
Public Speaking
Ben Etiaba has been involved in public speaking, often addressing themes such as ethical leadership and youth empowerment. He has given talks at events like The 2023 Annual Ethical Leadership lecture of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), where he presented on leadership challenges and ethical considerations in governance, in celebration of his birthday, and following that lecture, was awarded the Fellowship of Ethical Leadership of the University of Nigeria (FELUN).[7]

Political Career
In 2021, Ben Etiaba initially contested for the Anambra State Governorship Gubernatorial election under the All Progressives Congress (APC) but left the party after not winning the primaries. He later joined the Action Alliance party (AA) where he emerged as the governorship candidate for Anambra state in Nigeria, naming Regina Uchebo as his running mate.[1] [2][3][15]
In campaign remarks, he stated his intention to operate without the support of influential political backers, a notable topic within Nigerian politics, where high-profile supporters often play significant roles in candidate selection.[1][8]
