Beena Yusuf (February 18) is an American magazine editor and international designer who is currently the CEO and editor-in-chief of She Magazine USA.[1][2]

Early life and education

Yusuf was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. Her father was a Pakistani army veteran from Karachi, Pakistan, who immigrated to the United States in the 1980s and began working as a computer scientist. She completed her graduation and started building her career.

Career

Yusuf’s first job after graduation was as a prison counselor and later as a marketing director for Zap Medical Services.[3]

After moving to Dubai, UAE, Yusuf started working for the U.S. Consulate.[4]

In 2015, Yusuf transitioned her career to the fashion industry, debuting as a Middle Eastern couture designer on the runway.[5] She established the fashion brand B.Poshi,[6] which specializes in women's apparel and incorporates trends from the Middle East and South Asia into its designs.[7] The brand gained recognition for producing traditional capes from the Middle East known as "bishts." Her first client was a royal family member from the UAE.[8] The brand’s collection was featured at Pakistani Fashion Week and Elle Arabia 2018 and was voted Best International Designer by House Fashion Week.[9]

In 2018, She Magazine invited Yusuf to take over the publication's management in the United States.[10] She Magazine, published by Hearst Magazine UK, was a monthly publication for British women that ran for 56 years, from 1955 to 2011.[11] She subsequently became the chief executive officer and editor-in-chief of the publication.[12] She Magazine USA is a bi-monthly print and online publication that covers high-profile models, influencers, and celebrities.[13] The magazine featured articles on lifestyle, business, health and wellness, beauty, and entertainment and has landed front covers for two top shows featured on Bravo TV.[14][15]
