Bastora is a small village of 322 hectares in Bardez Tehsil in North Goa district, known and rated to have the best quality of life in India (based on the commission’s “12 Indicators”)[2] in the state of Goa, India.[3] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Bastora depends on MAPUSA, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[4] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Bastora is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Bastora's pin code is 403507[5], and village code is 00004400. The area of Bastora is segregated as 215 hectares unirrigated, the 34.31 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 72.9 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Bastora has One post office (Bastora B.O) and Two public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Bastora has One bank, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with One recreational center.

Bastora is a census village in the district of North Goa, Goa. The village has a total population of 3943 and has total administration over 917 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of MAPUSA and North Goa to sell iron grills and make their living.
