Basem Al-Shayeb

Basem Al-Shayeb is a researcher at the Innovative Genomics Institute[1]. He discovered the largest known Bacteriophage|bacteriophages[2][3], the smallest CRISPR gene editing|CRISPR gene editing systems[4][5][6], and Borg (microbiology) in methane-oxidizing archaea [7][8][9][10]. He was named Forbes 30 Under 30 in 2021[11].
