Barod is a small village of 779 hectares in Desuri Tehsil in Pali district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Barod depends on Sadri, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 157.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Barod is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Barod's pin code is 306702[4], and village code is 02465600. The area of Barod is segregated as 196 hectares irrigated area, 131 hectares unirrigated, the 306.93 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 145 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Sadri and Pali to sell earthen pot and make their living.
