Barnabas Emordi is a Nigerian Cinematographer[1] and film Director[2][3] and cinematographer[1] best known for his works on the films Prophetess, Superstar, The Ghost and the Tout Too, Dinner At My Place, Day Of Destiny and Elevator Baby.[4] Barnabas was announced as a nominee in Best Cinematographer in the 2022 edition of Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA).[5]

Career

Barnabas worked with Nigerian film director Niyi Akinmolaya in the 2021 Nigerian sports comedy film, Prophetess.[6][7] He worked as the Cinematographer in Elevator Baby a 2019 Nigerian drama thriller film directed by Akay Mason and produced by Niyi Akinmolayan.[2] In March 2022, he worked as Cinematographer in the 2022 Nollywood Romance film, Hey You, directed by Uyoyou Adia.[8] Barnabas has also worked as the Cinematographer in the following Nollywood films, D.O.D.: Day of Destiny (2021),[9] and Ireti (2020).[10]

In March 2022 for his work in 2021 Nollywood film Superstar,[11] Barnabas was announced as a nominee in Best Cinematographer in the 2022 edition of Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA).[12][13] Barnabas was nominated alongside Muhammed Atta Ahmed (Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story), James Amuta (Collision Course), Peter Kreil, Wale Adebayo, Samuel Jonathan & Moruf Fadaro (Amina), Samuel Jonathan & Moruf Fadaro (The Mystic River), John Njaga Demps (Nneka The Pretty Serpent), and Victoria Ombogo (Just In Time). [14] Muhammad Attah won the award.[15]

On 6 June 2022, He was featured on the 115 Issue of FILMS AND DIGITAL TIMES.[16]
