Baori is a small village of 6951 hectares in Shergarh Tehsil in Jodhpur district, also known as the Blue City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Baori depends on Jodhpur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 33.70% of the total supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Baori is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Baori's pin code is 342025[4], and village code is 01947800. The area of Baori is segregated as 3079.92 hectares irrigated area, 3111.65 hectares unirrigated, the 498.64 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 261.08 hectare area not available for cultivation.

According to a census 2011 report, 5038 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 2963 male, 2075 female with 3131 (62.15%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 2381 males and 750 females. 1227 males and 632 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 178 male and 42 female agricultural labor. 1907 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Jodhpur to sell ghee and make their living.
