Banwan is a small village of 147.2 hectares in Nawabganj Tehsil in Barabanki district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Banwan depends on Banki (NP), the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One Well supply and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Banwan's pin code is 225123[4], and village code is 05763800. The area of Banwan is segregated as 114.34 hectares irrigated area, 6.96 hectares unirrigated area. the 5.31 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves) and remaining 20.59 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Banwan has One post office (Banwa B.O) and Six public telephones. Banwan has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

Banwan is a census village in the district of Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh. The village has a total population of 1971 and has total administration over 350 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Banki (NP) and Barabanki to sell jaggery and make their living.
