Banmau is a small village of 188 hectares in Fatehpur Tehsil in Barabanki district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Banmau depends on surat ganj, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One Well supply and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Banmau's pin code is 225304[4], and village code is 05721900. The area of Banmau is segregated as 104 hectares irrigated area, 44 hectares unirrigated area. and remaining 19 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of surat ganj and Barabanki to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
