Banar is a small village of 178.9 hectares in Fatehpur Tehsil in Barabanki district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Banar depends on Fatehpur (NP) , the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply which is 12.00% of the total supply, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Banar's pin code is 225306[4], and village code is 05707500. The area of Banar is segregated as 190.366 hectares irrigated area, 5.664 hectares unirrigated area. the 6 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves) and remaining 2.231 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Fatehpur (NP) and Barabanki to sell jaggery and make their living.
