Bahal Raja Tua Tambunan is an Indonesian geologist who has served as the Special Envoy of the President for Geoscience and Engineering Cooperation since 2020.[1] In 2001, he collaborated with professors from Harvard University, NASA, and the Smithsonian Institution on a featured journal about geothermal reservoir characterization titled "The AVO hodogram: Using polarization to identify anomalies".[2][3]
Career
Tambunan began his career as a geologist at Agip, an Italian oil and gas company, in 1997. He has worked on various oil and gas projects in Indonesia and internationally with companies such as Shell, Chevron, and Total.[4] Tambunan has published several articles in the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) journals and conferences and graduated from the Bandung Institute of Technology with a bachelor's degree in geology.[5][6]
