B. Dylan Hollis creates funny videos on Tiktok of himself cooking vintage recipes, mainly from the mid-20th Century United States.
Born in Bermuda[1], Hollis moved to Laramie, Wyoming to attend the university, studying music and Mid-century modern culture. He began posting short videos at the bdylanhollis channel on Tiktok in 2020, becoming known for baking recipes from vintage cookbooks, including an article in the Washington Post.[2].
As of December, 2022, his Tiktok channel has 9.5 million followers and 218.9 million views, while his B. Dylan Hollis Youtube channel has 1.59 million subscribers.
Popular recipe videos on the channel include pork cate (1915),and Water pie (1929) [3]. Other notable recipes include "magic mayo" from 1951 and chocolate sauerkraut cake from 1948. [4]
Hollis has appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show with Jay Leno and Ayo Edebiri of The Bear (TV series), making pork cake [5]
Other of Hollis's topics include American history, low-cost baking techniques and gently referencing his gay life.
