Ayhan Emilianof is a Romanian basketball coach and former professional player. He is also the founder of Sport Club Elite Basketball.

Early life

Emilianof was born in Ialomița, Romania.

Playing career

CSM Royal Călărași (2009–2011)

Emilianof started his club career as a basketball player with CSM Royal Călărași in U16 National Championship. He played for CSM Călărași two seasons, scoring a significant number of points and having good statistics at junior level.

CSU Cuadripol Brașov (2011–2012)

In 2011 Emilianof joined CSU Cuadripol Brașov. In 2012, at 17 years old, he made his senior debut in Romanian's Division B.[1] 2011-2012 was the only season he played for CSU Brașov.

BC Farul Constanța (2012–2014)

In the summer of 2012, he transferred to BC Farul Constanța, a professional men's basketball team, newly promoted in the National League.[2] At Farul he had the chance to work with :fr:Costel_Cernat|Costel Cernat, a legend of Romanian basketball.[3] After only 2 seasons spent on the first stage of Romanian basketball, Emilianof decided to enroll at the National University of National University of Physical Education and Sports in Bucharest and follow the path of coaching.

Coaching career

BC Slam Bucharest (2015–2017)

Emilianof's coaching career began at an early age. After a period spent as Miroslav Zlatković's assistant, he became head coach of the junior teams. He coached at BC Slam Bucharest for a season and a half.

Baden Basket 54 (2018)

Emilianof singed with the women's team from Baden Basket 54 for the second half of the season from January until May 2018. This was his first experience as a coach in Women's National League B of Switzerland. He led the Baden team in a quarterfinals game of D-Classics Cup achieving a victory and qualification[4] and a game in the regular season ended with a victory. After these two games, the collaboration between Emilianof and the Baden club ended prematurely due to some administrative misunderstandings.

SC Elite Basketball (2020–present)

Starting with February 2020, Emilianof became the head coach of Elite Basketball men's team. Due to the pandemic, in the 2020-2021 season Elite Basketball played only two official games.

Managerial career

BC Steaua Bucharest (2017–2020)

After leaving BC Slam in 2017, he decided to get involved in the management of sports clubs. After a few months of working on the development of young players, he resumed the collaboration with Costel Cernat, his former coach, who proposed him as Sports Director of BC Steaua Bucharest.

SC Elite Basketball Group (2018–present)

Probably Emilianof's greatest adventure was opening his own private basketball club. He founded the first branch of Elite Basketball in 2018 in Bucharest, Romania. The club worked exclusively with junior athletes. In 2019, he opened a second branch of the club in Zürich, Switzerland which currently works with both junior and senior athletes and aims to promote in Men's National League 1 of Switzerland.

He is currently the president of Sport Club Elite Basketball Group.
