History

Avdel (India) Pvt. Ltd. was founded in 1961 as a result of a technological collaboration with Aviation Development Ltd. in the United Kingdom. In the same year, the company changed its name from Aviation Development Ltd, UK to Avdel Systems Ltd, UK.

Avdel India started by producing rivets and installation equipment for the transportation and aviation industries. Chobert Rivets for the transportation sector were introduced in 1962, followed by Avex Rivets for use in buses in 1964. Avdel India also began developing installation tools for blind rivets and Avdel Self-Plugging Rivets specifically intended for Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd., which serves the aviation industry, during the same period.

In 1991, Avdel India developed its business by importing and stocking specialty fasteners for the automotive, aerospace, and transportation industries. From 1991 to 1999, the company grew its customer base to include significant manufacturers in India's electrical, electronics, and white goods sectors.

Avdel India divided its Aviation and Commercial Products Divisions in 1998, recognizing the distinct wants and requirements of these industries. Because of this strategic move, the company was able to streamline its operations and provide specialized services.

Between 1998 and 2008, Avdel India specialized in the aerospace business. To meet the increasing demand in the Indian aerospace market.
