Assagao is a small village of 1073 hectares in Bardez Tehsil in North Goa district, known and rated to have the best quality of life in India (based on the commission’s “12 Indicators”)[2] in the state of Goa, India.[3] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Assagao depends on SIOLIM, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[4] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Assagao is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Assagao's pin code is 403507[5], and village code is 00003700. The area of Assagao is segregated as 14.07 hectares irrigated area, 670.78 hectares unirrigated, the 141.85 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 246.1 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Assagao has One post office (Assagao B.O) and Four public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Assagao has One bank, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with One recreational center.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Assagao is a census village in the district of North Goa, Goa. The village has a total population of 4367 and has total administration over 952 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of SIOLIM and North Goa to sell areated water and make their living.
