Arnis Aleinikovas[1] (SINUO) is Lithuanian interdisciplinary artist, mainly working in performing arts, theatre, poetry and electronic music. He is a member of several interdisciplinary organisations and theatres in Europe, "ALTR" artistic director in Kaunas. From 2022 he is a member of “Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Artists Association”, from 2023 - a lecturer in Vytautas Magnus University.

Recently his works were presented in prestigious contemporary art festivals in Kassel (Germany), NYC (USA), and Prague (Czech Republic). His poetry and first theatre play were selected and published in Munich cultural magazine “Turtle”.

He started his music career under the name of SINUO[2], which from Latin "sinus" means wind or curve. He is creating a conceptual electronic music, that could be found somewhere in between ambient and techno music. The first album "Emergency Exit" was released in 2022 and contains the tracks from the period of 2020-2022. In his music Arnis is mixing different fragments of lectures and / or discussions. For example, in the debut EP "Emergency Exit", which by the cultural magazine "370" in 2023 was announced as the album of the month[3], people can hear a Slovenian philosopher, cultural theorist Slavoj Žižek thoughts on happiness, original NASA sounds from the Universe, fragments of Carlo Rovelli book "Order of time" and personal, documentary material.

In his new album “Perpetual motion” - SINUO[4] is mixing English writer Alan Watts thoughts on separation, politicians interviews on climate change and psychiatrists thoughts on hatred.

The second album, the same as the first one, is existing on the frontiers of ambient and techno music and is variating in between 80 BPM to 160 BPM. Both albums in 2023 will be presented in Wroclaw (Poland), Munich (Germany), Lisbon (Portugal), Tbilisi (Georgia), Prague (Czech Republic) and Cologne (Germany).

EDUCATION

In 2012 Arnis Aleinikovas graduated from Kėdainiai Music school.

In 2013 Arnis Aleinikovas graduated from Kėdainiai language school.

In 2014 Arnis Aleinikovas graduated from Kėdainiai "Atžalynas" gymnasium.

In 2018 Arnis Aleinikovas[5] graduated from theatre and film acting in Vytautas Magnus University (Kaunas, Lithuania) and related studies in "Public Communication". During his BA studies - he was working as an actor in Kaunas City Chamber Theatre and Alytus City Theatre. His debut theatre performance "YOLO" [6] created in 2018 in Vytautas Magnus theatre got a prestigious Kaunas theatre award "Fortūna" diploma. [7]

After the graduation, Arnis Aleinikovas was working with Polish theatre director Łukasz Twarkowski[8] and was learning new ways of doing theatre. He was supporting in Schauspiels' Hanover theatre production "Once upon a time... life"[9] and Lithuanian National drama theatre production "RESPUBLIKA"[10].

In 2019 Arnis Aleinikovas enrolled in Academy of Performing arts in Prague (AMU[11]) Master's study programme "Directing devised and object theatre". During his studies Arnis had a chance to expand his theatre knowledge, get to know devised theatre principles and learn from the perspective film makers in the workshops in Film Academy (FAMU).

RECENT WORKS AND AWARDS

Arnis Aleinikovas is an active interdisciplinary artist, mainly working in theatre and performing arts. In 2023 together with the local community in Wroclaw he created a minimal movement-based performance “LUCIDITY”[12] that premiered in Wroclawski Instytut Kultury.

In 2022 in Kaunas Picture Gallery, Arnis presented his first hybrid performance “One dream is over (ODIO). In transition” created with Sai Sai.

In 2021 together with Japanese artist Sai Sai he created a somatic movement performance & audiovisual installation “REST”, which for the first time premiered in Prague (at the end of 2021). Later in 2022 September, it was presented in Kaunas, in VMU "Gallery 101"[13]

In 2021 Arnis Aleinikovas had started working on his new project “This address doesn‘t exist“[14]. It is a first theatre play in Lithuanian constructed by AI (Megatron 11-B). This text was presented in Kaunas Artists' House and Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania at the beginning of 2022. Actors – Vilma Raubaitė, Donatas Ališauskas, Milda Jonaitytė; text translated in Lithuanian by Dominyka Budinavičiūtė.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Arnis Aleinikovas was exploring various digital platforms and creating online. In 2021 in DISK theatre, together with an international team he created a erformative film "PULSE"[15][16][17](idea, directions - Arnis Aleinikovas; dramaturg - Daniel Alberto Victoria; performers - Eglė Šimėnaitė, Mara Ingea, En-Ping Yu, Lara Hereu, Sai Sai). In 2020 his performance “Fragmented Realities” (idea, concept, directions Arnis Aleinikovas; performance: Jachym Sura, Sai Sai, Alžbeta Novakova) was presented on ZOOM application. Nien-Ping Yu for "The Affairs" wrote: "Through the editing of live streaming and pre-recorded images, the idea of "now" is distorted and disturbed. The audience is invited to create their own chaotic reality"[18]. In the same year Arnis Aleinikovas was researching performing on a digital platform "Twitch" and created his durational, solo, live-streaming performance "ROOM IN 286/75", which documentation in 2022 was presented in contemporary Baltic Art exhibition "Volume UP!"[19].

In a parallel to performing arts, Arnis Aleinikovas has a strong interest in media and montage. In 2021 he released a video performance “Not enough tears”, which consists of mainly documentary material. In 2020 he presented video performances “LIQUID” and "No-Signal". His work "//////O" that was created as an entrance video for Academy of Performing Arts in 2022 was shown in the screening integrated in the Lumbung Lounge installation in parallel to "Documenta fifteen" (a project by Guerilla Architects and Along the Lines, at the Stellwerk Galerie, in Kulturbahnhof, Kassel).

In 2020 Arnis Aleinikovas got the "Art creator status" given by Ministry of Culture the Republic of Lithuania.

In 2018 before his graduation from Vytautas Magus University - Arnis Aleinikovas received "VMU honour award for achievements in art".

In 2018 Arnis Aleinikovas received Lithuania theatre award "Fortuna 2017 diploma".
