Armen Marsel Arzumanyan (Արմեն Մարսելի Արզումանյան, born May 9, 1973) Armenian SSR, USSR, Armenian politician, Chairman of Armenia TV CJSC Board and CEO of Panarmenian Media Group CJSC (2013-2019), Chairman of Panamanian Media Group CJSC Board (May - September, 2013) Press Secretary for the President of the Republic of Armenia (2010-2013),[1][2] Executive Director of the Public Television of Armenia (2001-2010).
Armen Arzumanyan was one of the co-founders of the top popular and technologically best-equipped first color newspaper of the time, “21” youth newspaper, at the age of 18. Co-founded the leading TV content making “Art-13” TV company, the first of its kind in the field. Pioneered/created the first Armenian Newsroom, invited the leading professionals of BBC to Armenia, to train local specialists. Implemented the most serious technical upgrade in the largest TV studio in the Caucasus where the first virtual studio in Armenia was created. Initiated and headed negotiations for the Armenian Public TV and Radio to become a full and equal member of the European Broadcasting Union. Designed and established Armenia TV Premium, 6 thematic cable TV channels, for the Ucom Telecommunication Company
Biography
In 1991 Armen Arzumanyan co-founded youth newspaper “21”, which was one of the first color newspapers in Armenia. He also co-founded the leading TV content making “Art-13” TV company, the first of its kind in the field. In 1993-1995 he worked at The Republic of Armenia newspaper. After military service in 1995-1997 he joined the Presidential Press Service Official of the Republic of Armenia, later becoming the Executive Director of local Kaym TV.
Armen Arzumanyan joined Public Television of Armenia in 1998, as the head of News Service, later becoming its Executive Director in 2000. There he pioneered the first Armenian Newsroom, invited the leading professionals of BBC to Armenia, to train local specialists. Implemented the most serious technical upgrade in the largest TV studio in the Caucasus where the first virtual studio in Armenia was created. Initiated and headed negotiations for the Armenian Public TV and Radio to become a full and equal member of the European Broadcasting Union.
In 2010 Arzumanyan was the Press Secretary for the President of the Republic of Armenia, resigning in 2013 by the Decree of the President.
Since 2013 he was the chairman, then the CEO of Panarmenian Media Group - largest media company in the country, which included a number of TV, radio, publishing and advertising companies. There Armen Arzumanyan designed and established Armenia TV Premium and 5 cable TV channels in cooperation with the Ucom Telecommunication Company.
