Arman Mnatsakanyan (born 21 November 1997) is an Armenian drummer. He is known for his collaborations with pianist Tigran Hamasyan and for his work with leading Armenian jazz ensembles, including the State Jazz Orchestra of Armenia and Arto Tunçboyacıyan & the Armenian Navy Band.[1]

Early life and education

He studied percussion at the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan and became active in the local jazz scene during his student years.[1]

In 2018, he was selected for the Berklee College of Music Five-Week Summer Performance Program in Boston, Massachusetts, where he received a scholarship.[2]

Career

Collaborations

Mnatsakanyan joined Arto Tunçboyacıyan & the Armenian Navy Band in the band’s later stages and is an active member of the State Jazz Orchestra of Armenia.[1]

In 2022, he appeared with the Artyom Manukyan Quartet at the Armenian Museum of America.[3]

Work with Tigran Hamasyan

Since 2023, Mnatsakanyan has been touring and recording with pianist Tigran Hamasyan.[4][5][6] [7]
