Arion Sulemani (born 1 March 2005) is an Australian professional who plays as a forward for Melbourne City in the A-League.
Career
Melbourne City
Sulemani played youth football with Dandenong Thunder in the youth leagues of NPL Victoria before joining Melbourne City in 2020.[1] By 2022, he would soon play in Melbourne City NPL team where he made 14 goals in total, becoming fourth in the goal-scoring ladder in NPL Victoria 3 on his debut season.[2][3] His impressive display in the senior league led him to earn a scholarship deal on 2 July, signing a two-year contract that would have him train with the A-League squad.[4]
On 28 September 2022, Sulemani was assigned number 34 in the A-League squad for Melbourne City ahead of the 2022–23 season.[5] He received his first senior call-up for the games against Brisbane Roar and Melbourne Victory but did not feature in the match squad.[6] On the verge of making his first senior minutes after impressive performances in training, Sulemani would be ruled out for over nine months with a teared ACL and had to undergo surgery in the process.[7]
