Anushka Gunasinghe is a Sri Lanka entrepreneur. He is the Founder and Director of CameraLK[1] and the former Chairman of National Enterprises Development Authority (NEDA)[2]

Early life & career

Anushka was born in Colombo and did his schooling at Isipathana College.

His entrepreneurial journey began after he dropped out of university, and took on freelance photography work. In 2010, during a trip to Singapore, he was tasked with bringing back cameras, inspiring him to start importing photography equipment.

Anushka founded CameraLK on the 21st of January 2011. The company quickly gained traction by breaking the existing monopoly in the market, offering cameras at more competitive prices than those set by other companies. CameraLK has expanded to include five showrooms and a service center, employing around 63 staff members.

In 2014, Anushka established the CameraLK Photography Academy, which has since trained approximately 600 students annually in photography.

In 2017 CameraLK was awarded with the authorised dealership of Sony in Sri Lanka along with that a new digital imaging showroom was opened.[3][4] In the beginning of 2020 Anushka was appointed as the Chairman of National Enterprises Development Authority.[5] Along with Wimal Weerawansa the minister of Industries a campaign named Made In Sri Lanka was launched to uplift the standards of entrepreneurs in Sri Lanka.[6][7]
