Antoine Tayar is a Canadian public official,[1] of Lebanese descent.[2] He was elected as municipal councilor in the Town of Mount Royal, Quebec, during the 2021 municipal elections[3] and currently serves as acting mayor, a role renewed on November 19, 2024. [4]
Education and Professional Background
Tayar holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Public Administration from the American University of Beirut, and a Master of Arts in Political Science from St. Joseph University in Lebanon.[5] He has worked for over 30 years in corporate communications, public affairs, and government relations, [6] including working with global organizations such as The Coca-Cola Company.[7]
Recognition
In 2024, Tayar was awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal in recognition of his contributions to public service.[8]
