Antoine Pasquali is a French entrepreneur, cognitive neuroscientist, robotics engineer, and Artificial intelligence researcher. He currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer at Cross Compass[1] and is a Co-founder and Principal Investigator at Cross Labs[2] in Tokyo, Japan.
Education
Pasquali holds an Engineer's degree from the École Supérieure d'Informatique, Électronique, Automatique in Paris, France (ESIEA (university), 2002). He completed a second master's degree in Cognitive neuroscience (2004) and a Ph.D. in Cognitive neuroscience (2009) at the Université Libre de Bruxelles under the supervision of Axel Cleeremans[3].
He later joined the University of Tokyo as a Postdoctoral researcher in Cognitive neuroscience (2011–2013), working on the neural mechanisms of Introspection under Katsuyuki Sakai.
Career
Pasquali began his professional career in Artificial intelligence and Embedded system development, developing real-time Natural language processing application based on Dragon NaturallySpeaking and contributing to Human–computer interaction projects at companies such as Thales Optronics (European project IST-1999-10202[4]). He later joined robotics research labs, first in France with the French National Centre for Scientific Research[5], then in Italy[6] with the iCub team, applying Deep learning techniques to Developmental robotics as early as 2004[7].
From 2006 to 2015, he operated as a private science and technology consultant before joining the founding team of Cross Compass[1] in 2015. Then in 2018, he co-founded Cross Labs[2], where he leads research and development in Artificial intelligence (Deep learning, Large language model, Genetic algorithm, Robotics, etc.).
Research
Pasquali’s research encompasses Consciousness, Implicit learning, Developmental robotics, and Deep learning. He has published in peer-reviewed journals on topics such as Chunking (psychology), Metacognition, Neural network (machine learning), and safety and reliability in Artificial intelligence systems integration. [8][9][10][11]
