Robert Anthony Sims (born October 11, 1998) known as Anthony Sims, is a Mexican-American painter and digital artist.[1]

Early Life

Anthony Sims was born in Southaven, Mississippi.[2] Anthony graduated from Lewisburg High School. [3]

Career

2017-2020

Anthony Sims' first art exhibition was at the Brooks Museum of Art, where Anthony was awarded a silver key for his art portfolio "I Cut" from the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards in 2017.[4][5] Anthony was made one of the Memphis Ten in an exhibition at Jack Robinson's Gallery at the beginning of 2019 and by the middle of 2019, Anthony moved to Dallas, Texas, after nearly being homeless in Memphis, Tennessee.[6] Anthony's portrait of Hannah Dimmitt titled "1980's Glam" was published in Vogue Italia.[7] The Meridian Museum of Art accepted two of Anthony Sims' pieces into their permanent collection in 2020.[8]

2021-2022

Anthony began creating non-fungible tokens on SuperRare in January 2021.[9] In May 2021, Anthony Sims' painting "Not Sure About Myself, I Am Certain," sold for 24.25 ETH, which was approximately $99,973 at the time of the sale.[10][11] The painting was a collaborative project with Andri Wibow who animated the painting.[12] In August of 2021, Anthony held his debut solo show in Los Angeles|Los Angeles, California, titled "Dichotomy: Analog vs Digital" and spoke about non-fungible tokens on the LATV|LATV Network.[13][14] Anthony Sims was one of four featured digital artists in "Another Dimension: Digital Art in Memphis" at the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art.[15]
