Anne Quart (born July 17, 1973) is a theatrical producer, currently the Executive Producer of Disney Theatrical Group,[1] the theatrical production arm of The Walt Disney Company.
Early life
Quart was born in Canada, where she got her start as a child actress, starring in a movie called The Wars (film) in 1983.[2] Quart studied at Ryerson Theatre School in Toronto, Canada from 1992 to 1994.[3] Shortly after her studies, Quart began her career in her home country of Canada, where at a young age, she managed the operations of a theatrical costume shop.
Career
When Disney Theatrical Group was in its infancy, Quart entered as its production's leadership. Alongside Thomas Schumacher, Quart helped grow the subsidiary of the Walt Disney Company into the biggest corporate player on Broadway.[1] Quart oversees the continued success of The Lion King (musical), credited as its associate producer and its co-producer.[4] Quart's first producer's credit in her role as SVP of Production was for Newsies (musical) in 2012.[4][5]
Since 2012, Quart continues to oversee Disney's theatrical works globally.[6] On Broadway, Quart co-produced Aladdin (musical) and Frozen (musical). Additional works includes the touring productions of Disney's musicals in the U.S., the UK, as well as stationary productions in the West End of London, and in countries including the Netherlands, Germany, Australia, and Japan. Quart also led the productions of Disney Theatrical Group through the COVID-19 Pandemic,[7] being interviewed by Variety (magazine) for her experience as a producer on Broadway during a pandemic.[8]
On September 28, 2023, The New York Times reported that Quart would be taking a new role at Disney Theatrical Group as its Executive Vice President and Executive Producer.[1] In this new role, Quart works alongside Thomas Schumacher, who has become the Chief Creative Officer, and Andrew Flatt, who is now the Executive Vice President and Managing Director.[1]
Additional Accomplishments
Aside from her producing accomplishments, Quart is also known for organizing Women's Day on Broadway, an annual event that celebrates the success of female contributors to the Broadway industry.[9][10][11] The most recent event took place in March 2021 virtually, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[12] Most notably, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was the keynote speaker at Women's Day on Broadway in 2020.[13]
Personal Life
Quart is married to Geoff Quart, who together have two daughters.[14]
